About Me

My name is Poppy Andersen I'm from Boston, Lincolnshire and I love to draw photorealistic portraits. For Christmas one year, I drew a portrait of my dog Beau for my parents, the drawing gained some traction on social media and my pet portraits took off and haven't slowed down since. 

As well as drawing animals, I throughly enjoy to draw people, mostly using pen or graphite pencil as they are my preferred mediums. I try to achieve a sense of realism with my work.

September 2023 I began at the University of Arts London studying Fine Art: Drawing, however after a few months I realised the course didn't suit me or my particular style and I decided to come home. I realised I love the freedom of creating pieces completely myself for other people, without external influences or boundaries.

I dream of art being a full time commitment one day, although it can be difficult to be an artist in such a business minded world. I also like to attend local markets and craft fairs to share my work.
